On Libraries

On my half-day last Friday, I decided to go to the library down the road from the apartment. I applied for a library card and wandered through all the books and came out with 2 DVDs and 2 books. (Their DVD collection is quite expansive, as is the TV show selection.)

It was all free! I had not been to a library in a while and was pleasantly surprised to find this one very modern and up-to-date, even with its rather small selection of books. (It's a small local branch.) Also, I've already put a few books on hold and all my notifications for upcoming due dates are e-mailed to me! It is fantastic to live so close to such an amazing resource. I know the library will become one of my favorite places as I start to increase my reading habits again. :)

I LOVE the library. It is a resource most people do not take advantage of.

When I was laid off, I found all this extra time to bike over to the library. It was great! I think I've been to the library more in the past half of a year than in the previous few years combined! I did pick up a bunch of books for job searching and such. And now I just drop by every once in a while to pick up a few books from my favorite sections in the library and grab a DVD or two.

I love the library also. The best free entertainment ever. When I get the urge to buy a new book, I visit the library.

I need to find the local library in my new town...it's such a great resource. You should check out the free events...some are really fun!
