2010 Goals

  • Max out Roth IRA
I am just about to max it out for 2009 and want to do it again in 2010!
  • E-Fund to $15K
$15K would give me about a 10-month emergency fund.
  • Continue with CFA exams
I recently took Level I, so we'll see what happens when I get my result in January.
  • Take golf lessons
    This was a 2009 goal that I didn't accomplish. Here's round two! ;)
  • Knit 3 items
I started learning to knit at the end of 2008, but fell off the bandwagon in 2009. Even if I just knit three basic items like squares or scarves, I am really determined this year!
  • Volunteer
I volunteered a lot during high school and college. I would really like to start again!

I just started knitting again this year and found two resources very useful (and inspiring) - the book "Knitting for Dummies" and the website/community Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com). They made mastering harder things very easy! Enjoy!

Instead of knitting a square, try a hat! They're really easy. Plus everyone loves a hand knit hat, so they make great holiday gifts!

Congrats on maxing out your IRA. I wish I was able to...I think I contributed about $500 to mine during 2009.

Good luck on all your goals! I'm working on 2 scarves right now. Not sure if I will actually wear them, but I just want to finish what I started :) I'll have to share pics

@Jenn - Thanks for the resources! I've heard of Ravelry, now I'll check it out :)

@SD - Hats are my next knit project after I get out of the perfunctory scarf phase! Maybe that will be my 3rd item :)

@HCLI - I am knitting 2 scarves right now, 1 I will probably wear when I finish it, the other definitely not but like you I want to finish what I've started! Pics would be great! :)
