Weekly Money Check Up

Courtesy of My Pretty Pennies! I'm a few days late, but it's fun to do.

1. The most I’ve spent this last week was on clothes! I spent $91.02 at H&M :)

2. Today I feel good towards money.

3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free/inexpensive thing I did last week that made me happy was continue watching S4 of Dexter with friends.

4. I will consider this week a success if I don't spend too much on groceries! They are my vice.

5. My first job was the ticket seller at a go-karting track... other than babysitting. It was really fun and really easy! I think that's what started my interest in customer service. (Even though that's not currently what I do.)

Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

Monday Money Check-Up

This week I'm participating in the Monday Money Check-Up hosted by My Pretty Pennies! :)

1. The most I've spent this last week was on a pedicure! $27 including tip which is more than I normally pay.

2. Today I feel good towards money. My budget is looking to come quite a bit under for the end of August, and it's a long weekend with fun plans plus payday!

3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free/inexpensive thing I did last week that made me happy was hang out with friends! Board game night on Friday and movie/wine on Saturday night. :)

4. I will consider this week a success if I go to a State Farm office and get renter's insurance. Seriously!

5. My favorite room in a house is the kitchen and living room. I find both very comforting, inviting and relaxing. :)

Tagged, Once Again!

I was tagged by Sunflowers @ The Debt Chronicles! Good thing, too, as I have been trying to think of something to blog about recently. Also, I'm just going to list the 7 facts and not tag anyone back - especially since I can never follow all the on-going tagging! :)

Seven Facts

  1. I have an obsession with designer jeans ever since I bought my first pair 4 years ago (and they still look as good as new!)... I own 4 pairs.
  2. I love text messages! Good thing I have unlimited texts through Verizon!
  3. I am under 5' tall (short?)
  4. My favorite foods are Indian and Thai (mutter paneer and pad see eew, respectively)
  5. I do not include my car ('02 Civic) in my net worth
  6. I love the cardio kickboxing classes at my gym and would be willing to pay a LOT more than I do now just to keep going to them
  7. I wear my heart on my sleeve -- which gets me into trouble sometimes!

5. I danced from age 7 til 18... and occasionally still go to hip hop classes (though I have no flexibility whatsoever)

& just for kicks... 7. I habitually turn off lights and close any doors that are open

I am going to tag: Penny, Forest on Finance, SavingDiva and Always the Planner. :)

Tagged!

Thanks to Stephanie for giving me my first tag! :) Here it is.

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was 12 years old and it was the summer between 6th and 7th grade. I took dance classes and went to summer camp outside of my hometown of Toronto with old friends. Ah, those were the days!

2. Five items on today’s “to do” list:
1. Transfer money from checking account to savings account
2. Do the dishes
3. Take my car through the car wash (I have a free wash!)
4. Create & update folders in my mini filing cabinet
5. Make July 4th plans!

3. What snacks do you enjoy?
Ice cream, grapes, chips & edamame... I am a constant snacker lol

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?
That's a LOT of money. I would certainly put a lot of it away to be completely secure in retirement. I would use the rest of it to buy a fantastic house, donate a lot to charity and then TRAVEL THE WORLD!! :)

5. Where would you live?
Great question. Where wouldn't I live is more like it... I love NYC so an apartment there and a place in Seattle. I would love to have a place in Thailand or Vietnam. Maybe South Africa so I can be closer to my extended family.

I am going to tag SavingDiva and Small Budget Big Style Chick.
