Goodbye, New Boy

I knew it was coming, but it still hurts. After realizing that new boy was making excuses all this week and that he was definitely holding back, things ended today. We had a phone conversation and he basically said he wasn't having the feelings for me he should be having, and that he didn't want to drag it out any longer to try to see if something changed. (I've been on both sides of this situation before, so I know that it really sucks to admit it when you really don't want to hurt someone.)

I thanked him for at least having the balls to discuss it with me, even if it wasn't in person. Because we all know the disappearing act sucks. Why do I feel like this year is a repeat of last year dating-wise? But then again, I haven't even had a single relationship at all in 2010! Sigh.

Back to the eHarmony drawing board...

I'm sorry it didn't work out, but it's better than staying in a relationship that sucks.

Back to the drawing board! Patience.

it is good he was up front about it instead of two timing you or stringing you along. he just isn't the right one. have patience and he will come.

Sorry that happened too lady. Good job at keeping a good attitude. The disappearing act definitely does suck!

Oh I'm so sorry :( That really sucks, never an easy thing to go through. I think you're amazing for looking at the bright side and so brave for sharing! You will definitely find someone perfect for you :)

so sorry to hear this! Keep looking on the bright side, you have such a good attitude. You'll make some lucky guy amazingly happy (and vice versa!)

Hey at least you had some fun experiences, and now you don't have to buy him a Xmas gift! ;)

I'm sorry to hear that.. but it seems like you are dealing with this really well. You are making room for the guy who is right for you.

Thank you ALL for your sweet, encouraging comments! Yes, it stinks when something ends but I know that just means someone even better is out there for me. I'm definitely looking forward to what 2011 will bring for me in terms of love. :) Something else I didn't mention in my post was that he really wants to stay friends (I said I would need some time, but I would be okay with that) and said he will always be there for me if I need anything...even just a ride to the airport. And I truly appreciate that!

Heya... I feel for you. I felt this way in 2008, after a relationship (a sic month one) ended with the disappearing act in April 08. Then I didn't have a relationship in 08, 09 or most of 2010... until I met a lovely man on Eharmony at the end of October of this year. Finally things are looking up. Unfortunately, us ladies in out mid to late 20s are bombarded with people asking us why we're single and all of our friends seem to be getting married and having babies. But don't worry your time will come. And I am a big fan of EHarmony!
